Due to potentially damaging weather this afternoon and evening, the children’s musical and pre-show events in the Leawood Sanctuary have been cancelled and will be rescheduled.
Scheduled programming has resumed for Thursday, February 13 at all Resurrection locations.

Make a lasting impact by supporting classrooms each month with resources, weekend meal bags, teacher appreciation, and student support all year long.
Your presence matters—volunteer to make a lasting difference in a student’s life.

Want to make a difference in Resurrections partner schools? Connect with our Partner School Liaisons to learn about each school’s unique needs and discover how you can use your gifts to support students, teachers, and families in meaningful ways.

Want to serve in one of our partner schools but not sure where to start? Join us for an Open Volunteer Day! These visits give you the chance to meet our school liaison, tour the building, and see firsthand what a classroom champion can do — before making a commitment.

Your lunch hour just got better! Lead to Read KC is recruiting volunteers to read once a week for 30 minutes with students in high-need elementary schools. It’s the easiest, most meaningful volunteer experience in the city. No evenings or weekends!

The My Volunteer Pal (MVP) program is the volunteer program for all Shawnee Mission Schools. The program connects adult volunteers with students ages Pre-Kindergarten to age 18. Volunteers enjoy flexible schedules. All activities take place on school grounds during school hours with the exception of field trips.

At Resurrection’s partner schools, 75–100% of students rely on free or reduced lunch, but many face food insecurity over the weekend. Our Backpacks for Hunger program helps close that gap by providing nutritious, kid-friendly food every Friday—so students return to school Monday ready to learn, not hungry.

Help us bring fresh, nutritious food directly to families in need. The FoodMobile visits some of our partner schools every month to support students and their households with groceries like dairy, produce, and protein—all at no cost.

Help students in need build their home libraries! As a BookMobile volunteer, you’ll assist children in selecting new and gently used books to keep—supporting literacy and bringing joy through the gift of reading. Volunteers serve at schools across the KC Metro, distributing over 60,000 books each year.

From weekly box truck deliveries to outings on the Food Mobile and Book Mobile, we can’t get there without drivers!
As the needs in Kansas City increase, we have several driver openings for our FoodMobile, Bookmobile, and box trucks. We’ll help you get trained and road ready!
