The Resurrection Overland Park Food Pantry is intended to bridge the food insecurity gap in our community by providing nutritious food for 100 or more families in need each week.
Approximately 90 regular Volunteers are needed to keep the Pantry stocked and to serve our Pantry Guests. Weekly Volunteer Shifts are available at various times of the day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Individual volunteers and groups of volunteers (up to six per shift), are welcome to sign up as space allows on the schedule (please click on the FIRST-TIME VOLUNTEER link below, to register as a new volunteer). If you have any questions upon completion of your registration, reach out to Lisa Kirk at Lisa.kirk@cor.org
The Food Pantry is located at Resurrection Overland Park, 8412 W. 95th St., and we are open to serve the community on Wednesdays from 9 am – 12 pm & 3 pm – 6 pm.
Community Members in need may visit the Pantry for the first time on a walk-in basis. All are welcome! Whether you are a community member in need, or a first-time volunteer, we look forward to meeting you soon!
Our Hunger Ministry team works to provide supplemental funding to partner pantries throughout the KC area. Our support allows pantries to purchase meat, dairy, and fresh produce for their clients in need. All of this is made possible through donations from within the church, special food drives, and monetary donations. With your help, we are bridging the meal gap for more than 430,000 people in our region.
The Resurrection Hunger Ministry is an umbrella ministry with three distinct areas of focus to best serve those that are food insecure in Kansas City:
Donations in any amount will be used to purchase needed food in bulk or supplemental funding for our pantries to purchase proteins, produce and other items.
How much should I donate? Here is a general guideline of how far your money can go to feeding an average family of 4 when we purchase in bulk:
