Summer Makeover 2026: Volunteers Transform The Hub Through a Week of Service

church volunteer service project

What an incredible week at Summer Makeover!

Over the course of the week, our congregation came together in remarkable ways to prepare The Hub in Argentine for its next season of ministry. Thanks to the dedication and generosity of our volunteers, we offered 350 volunteer opportunities and then filled 370! Amazing! Even more inspiring, many volunteers asked if they could return to serve multiple days—a beautiful reflection of the servant-hearted spirit that makes Resurrection so special.

The transformation began on day one as volunteers tackled the monumental task of dismantling and removing 60 pews from the sanctuary. From there, the momentum only grew. By the end of the week, freshly painted walls brightened the building, beautiful new flooring transformed the sanctuary, outdoor spaces were renewed with landscaping and cleanup, and countless improvement projects had been completed throughout the campus.

One of the most meaningful moments of the week came as we delivered nearly 300 chairs donated from Resurrection Leawood and Resurrection Lee’s Summit to replace the pews in the Hub’s chapel. It was a reminder that ministry extends beyond our own walls, and that even furnishings can become a blessing to another community.

While the visible improvements were exciting, the greatest transformation wasn’t found in freshly painted walls or new flooring—it was found in the people who showed up.

Hundreds of volunteers from all nine Resurrection locations gave their time, talents, and energy to serve alongside one another. Whether they spent an hour or several days on site, each person played a part in preparing The Hub to continue serving our community for years to come.

Summer Makeover reminded us that the Church is at its best when people come together with a shared purpose. We witnessed strangers become teammates, families serve side by side, and volunteers of every age use their gifts to make a lasting impact.

To everyone who volunteered, donated supplies, led projects, provided meals, or supported this effort behind the scenes, “thank you!” Your generosity made this transformation possible.

Together, we accomplished far more than building improvements. We strengthened our community, created spaces where ministry can flourish, and lived out Christ’s call to love our neighbors through service.

Thank you for helping make Summer Makeover an incredible success. We can’t wait to see how God uses these renewed spaces to impact lives in the months and years ahead.
