Construction teams serve with volunteers from the Methodist Church in El Obraje to serve in their community by pouring cement floors in some of the local homes and doing other light construction.
Teams that visit the school in Ciudad España help students develop English language skills by playing games, acting out scenarios, and focusing on pronunciation. These teams also help with a little school upkeep or community outreach in the afternoons.
Teams fly into San Juan, Puerto Rico. Resurrection will arrange flight logistics so that the team is on the same flight.
Team members are accommodated at the Methodist Arecibo Campsite, approximately 20 miles from the Hatillo Samuel Culpeper Church. Accommodations are dorm-style (separate rooms for men and women), with bunk beds and private bath.
The minimum age for Puerto Rico serve trips is 16 with parent or guardian. Team members under the age of 21 must have their parents/guardian complete a notarized Parental Consent Form.
Coming from the United States, all you need is a driver’s license or another valid form of photo ID to enter Puerto Rico (it’s part of the United States after all!)
You do not need speak Spanish to join a Puerto Rico team, but we are always looking for team members who do!
